In its endeavor to safeguard the interests of the elderly population, the government has launched a new welfare scheme that shall provide a monthly fund of ₹3,500 to elderly beneficiaries. This pension scheme is laid out under a larger social security strategy to ensure some security in living for aged citizens deprived of any regular sources of income or pension.
Definition Of The Eligible
The following criteria are meant to be met by an applicant for receiving a monthly pension of ₹3,500.
- Age: He/She should be a senior citizen, aged 60 or above.
- Income Criteria: The person should belong to a lot income category and cannot be able to get any other form of pension or livelihood.
- Residency: Person has to be an Indian citizen and resident of the state/region where the scheme is held.
- Aadhar-linked Bank Account: Beneficiaries must have an Aadhaar number linked with an operative bank account for DBT.
In some states, there could be a few more requirements and/or documents, such as evidence of residence, income certificates, private cell phones for confirmation, or age verification documents.
Procedure For Applying
The application procedure for this elderly pension of ₹3,500 is fairly simple, and arrangements have been made so that applications can be filed both online and offline:
Online Mode
- Log in to the official state government portal or the NSAP website.
- Click the link to the elderly pension scheme and hit “Apply Online.”
- The entry field requires name, age, Aadhaar number, bank account details, and address.
- Upload the supporting documents such as Aadhaar Card, age proof, and income certificate.
- An acknowledgment number will be displayed once the submission is done, which must be kept for future reference.
Offline Mode
- Visit the nearby Common Service Centre (CSC) or local government office.
- Request for a pension scheme form.
- Fill the form and attach photocopies of required documents.
- Submit the form to the concerned officer and gets a receipt for the same.
When Will Payments Be Made?
Once the payment procedure is over and an application has been successfully verified and approved, they shall be receiving payments monthly within 30 to 60 days. The payments will be deposited to the respective beneficiaries’ bank accounts through DBT.
